Had an amazing time with friends! The location is perfect for nature lovers, with beautiful views and great hiking. The estate has a wonderful indoor and outdoor pool. Fun onsite activities like ecotours. Don’t miss a visit to the Tata Tea Museum and the Rose Garden.
The drive up can be a bit challenging, so be ready for some twists and turns along the way. It’s worth it for the views, but just a heads up for future guests.

Recommend it for couples seeking tranquility
The morning I woke up to sip tea on the terrace, surrounded by vibrant flowers and chirping birds was lovely. The naturalist-led walk, where we spotted exotic birds and learned about the tea plantations, added a magical touch to our days.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but the experience felt worth every penny.

Stayed in the Planters Room for two nights. The room was spacious, which was great after long days exploring. The view from the balcony was stunning! I loved lounging outside, sipping hot tea, and watching the birds. The bathroom had an old-school charm but was clean and had a good shower. It felt cozy and comfortable, like a home away from home.

The estate offered excellent South Indian cuisine across all meals, showcasing a talented chef who genuinely engaged with guests. The morning bird watching activity was delightful, providing a serene start to the day. While the experience was generally positive, some amenities felt a bit lacking.

The Windermere Estate feels like an oasis, surrounded by the tranquility of tea gardens and misty hills. I absolutely loved the layout of the estate, with several buildings that harmonize beautifully with the natural surroundings. The garden view from my room was a delightful wake-up call every morning. The staff amazed me with their attentive and caring approach, always ready to assist. I particularly enjoyed the guided cycle ride through the nearby tea plantation led by Anji, who shared fascinating insights. One of the highlights was the mouthwatering South Indian cuisine. the chef really knows how to whip up a meal. The communal areas, especially the swimming pool and game zones, provided a wonderful space to unwind after a day of exploring the estate. On the flip side, the road leading to the estate was in rough shape, which made the journey a bit bumpy. Additionally, some of the room amenities, like more hangers and upgraded toiletries, were missing, which detracted slightly from the overall comfort. The internet connection was also limited, only accessible in common areas. Nonetheless, the beauty of the estate and the warmth of the staff made for a memorable stay.
